Obituary

Nancy Clay Bryant was born in Mt. Sterling, KY June 21, 1949. She was welcomed into the grateful arms of our God the evening of April 8, 2020. She left behind a thankfulness for incredible friends and family making saying goodbye so hard.

Nancy Clay spent her adult life in Ft. Pierce, Florida. However, her heart was always in her beloved Mt. Sterling and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. She was so proud to call Mt. Sterling home. She was born to Susan and Warren Bryant and lived on the farm on Winchester Road before the family moved to town when she was 12 years old. She graduated from Mt. Sterling High School and went on to attend Western Kentucky University and graduated from the University of Kentucky which prepared her to follow her mother's career in social work. Growing up in a family dedicated to farming and social work, she understood hard work and compassion. She helped and encouraged many families, especially children, through difficult times In Ohio, Kentucky and Florida.

Nancy Clay loved being around animals and birds; and nature in general. She had a passion for "her kind" of politics and will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, kindness, strength of character and her contagious laugh. She reminded us that people and their experiences matter most; and always looked for the best in others.

Nancy Clay is survived by her lifetime partner Boyd Montgomery who knows her as the guiding light of his goodness. Her brother Malcolm Bryant (Sally), niece Sarah Clay (Sami) and her nephew Harrison were adored by her. Cate and Will (grand niece and nephew) were her joy.

A private graveside ceremony will be held. A celebration of Nancy Clay's life will be scheduled later this summer or fall for friends and family to gather to reminisce and share the joy that Nancy Clay brought to this world.
