Nannie Jean Martin, 80 of Tabor Road, Jeffersonville passed away at the St. Joseph-Mt Sterling Hospital on March 3, 2021.
She was a loving, beautiful, kind, light in the world who loved her family and her Savior. She has been a devoted Christian of the Pentecostal faith who lived her life in such a way that taught others what the Love of Christ was because she showed it to everyone she met. She was patient, kind, humble, always saw the best in everyone, made everyone feel loved, and helped raise everyone that got the privilege to know her. She loved shopping, vacations and was ready to go anywhere anytime, and loved to have family and friends around her. She was always a loving, devoted wife and mother and will be dearly missed every moment of every day.
She was born in Harlan County, Kentucky on March 22, 1940 the daughter of the late Ray Pennington and Louella Branson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Martin; step-father, James Estep; three brothers, Ronnie Estep, Donnie Estep and Bobby Estep; and a sister, Kathy England.
She is survived by six sons, Dean Martin (Sarah) of Mt. Sterling, KY, Richard Martin (Ashley) of Mt. Sterling, Mike Martin (Sharon) of Waynesburg, KY, Keith Martin (Cyndy) of Mt. Sterling, Shane Martin (Sarah) of Jeffersonville, KY, and David Martin (Emily) of Mt. Sterling; four daughters, Debbie Copher (Sam) of Jeffersonville, KY, Victoria Ingle (Rich) of Owingsville, KY, Davonna Armitage of Mt. Sterling, and Ashley Martin (Jr. Sparks) of Mt. Sterling; one sister, Midge Saylor of Morehead, KY; twenty-five grandchildren; eighteen great grandchldren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be 1 PM, Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Martin officiating and burial following in the Martin-Willoughby Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday evening from 5-8 pm at the Taul Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling. Pallbearers will be her sons, Dean Martin, Richard Martin, Mike Martin, Keith Martin, Shane Martin and David Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Scotty Martin, Shane Martin, Chris Martin, Trey Martin, Christian Sain, Derek Martin, Cody Martin, Tyler Martin, Chandler Martin, Bryten Martin and Griffen Martin.
