Rev. Ollie Sherman Long, 94, of Mt. Sterling passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling, KY.  He was born October 25, 1928 to the late Melvin and Ethel Moorman Long in Owensboro, KY.  He was a member of First Baptist Church Mt. Sterling and a retired Baptist minister serving throughout Kentucky, West Virginia and Florida. He retired from Hobart Manufacturing and Long's Upholstery.

He is survived by two sons, Anthony Long (Debbi) of Mt. Sterling, KY and Michael Long (Lynne) of Trussville, AL; three daughters, Donna Snowden (Rodney) of Jeffersonville, KY, Dianne Wood (Dan) of Mt. Sterling, KY and Karen Denise Hoskins of Mt. Sterling, KY; honorary daughter, Yvonne McVey; twenty-two grandchildren; and twenty-seven great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Viola Mae Martin Long; son-in-law, Alan Hoskins; brother, Wayne Long; and two sisters, Golda Faye Rorer and Anna Francis Long.

Funeral services will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at First Baptist Church Mt. Sterling with Rev. Austin Lewis and Rev. Chris Wells officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 5-8 PM, Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at First Baptist Church.  Pallbearers will be Brandon Snowden, Michael Snowden, Roman Wood, Tommy Hunt, Anthony Hunt and Jason Tipton.  Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of First Baptist Church. Taul Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements
