Obituary

Patricia Ann Prewitt, age 76 years, a resident of Paducah, Kentucky and a former resident of Vienna, Illinois, passed away Friday morning, April 4, 2025, at 6:25 A.M. at the Stonecreek Health & Rehabilitation Center in Paducah.

Patricia was born March 17, 1949 in Washington, D.C.  She was the second of three daughters born to Stanley Reeves and Mary Louise (Hutt) Reeves.

On February 28, 1969, Patricia was united in marriage to Davis Prewitt in the chapel of the Bethesda Naval Military Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.  Together, Patricia and Davis shared over 56 years of marriage.

In addition to her beloved husband, Patricia is survived by: a son – Matthew (his wife, Jenny) Prewitt of Kevil, Kentucky; and grandchildren – Katherine Elizabeth Prewitt and Christian Prewitt.

She was preceded in death by her parents – Stanley and Mary Louise Reeves; paternal grandparents – Thomas and Nettie Reeves; maternal grandparents – Charles and Johanna Hutt; and her sisters – Joanna Reeves Gray and Linda Reeves Hilton.

Patricia had been employed by the Government Employee Insurance Company in Washington, D.C.  Following the family's move to Southern Illinois, Patricia worked from 1984 – 1998 at Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance Co in the Marion, Illinois office.  Beginning in 1998, Patricia worked as a corporate trainer for Wisconsin Physicians Service until her retirement.  Additionally, Patricia worked in the administrative/business office at Hillview Health Care Center in Vienna.

Patricia enjoyed traveling, taking drives and enjoying the beauties of Southern Illinois.  She also is remembered for her love of cooking and the joy she found in spending time with her family.  Patricia was a fastidious person and took pride in her appearance and being neat and organized.

In her youth, Patricia attended the Catholic Church.  In later years, she encouraged and supported Davis in his faith walk and attended the Church of Christ with him.

A service honoring the life of Patricia Ann Prewitt will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, April 9, 2025, at 3 P.M. at Central Church of Christ, 2201 Washington Street, Paducah, Kentucky 42003.  Brother Adam Faughn and Brother Jim Faughn will officiate.

Visitation will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, April 9, 2025, from 1 P.M. until the service hour at 3 P.M. at Central Church of Christ.

There will also be a service Friday afternoon, April 11, 2025, at 1 P.M. (E.S.T.) at Taul Funeral Home, 109 East Main St., Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353.  Brother Jim Faughn will officiate.

Burial will be in the Machpelah Cemetery in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.

Visitation will be conducted Friday, April 11, 2025, from 11 A.M. until the service hour at 1 P.M. (E.S.T.) at Taul Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1905 or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 4400 Clayton Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri 63110.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Taul Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, Illinois.
