Patty Snyder, 89, formally from Mt. Sterling, KY passed away peacefully at The Landings of Albermarle, Hertford, NC on September 19, 2026.

Patty was born on May 12, 1937, in Montgomery County to the late Frank Reffitt and Lucille Sanders Reffitt. She was a member of the first graduating class of Montgomery County High School in 1955.

Patty worked many years as a bookkeeper in Mt. Sterling and retired from Smith Furniture store. She spent her life in Montgomery County until 2020, when she moved to Virginia to be near her daughter and family.

A devoted Christian Patty spent many years working alongside her late husband, Howard (Huffy) Snyder, at the First Baptist Church. She was a much-loved Sunday school teacher and always seemed to be in the kitchen helping to prepare a meal.

Patty is survived by her daughter Diana Samsal; her grandson, Robert Samsal; and two great grandsons, Brayden and Robert David all of Courtland, VA.

In addition to her husband Howard “Huffy” Snyder she was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lucille Sanders Reffitt; her son Stephen Potter; her daughter, Lisa Potter Richardson and her sister Alma Reffitt Welch.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 on October 3, 2026, at the Machpelah Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Jones officiating.
