Peggy Doris Garrett, 91, of Mt. Sterling, KY passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Mt. Sterling Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born November 10, 1934 in Montgomery County, KY to the late Clay and Mayme Carmichael Carpenter.  She attended Sugar Grove Christian Church and Grace Community Church.  She enjoyed babysitting and gardening, working the farm and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Garrett (Brenda) of Mt. Sterling, KY and Robert Gregory Garrett (Karen) of Owingsville, KY; daughters, Brenda Newkirk of Morehead, KY and Tracy Crouch (Doug) of Mt. Sterling, KY; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Owings Garrett; and a sister, Elizabeth Ann Karrick.

Funeral services will be held 12 PM, Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Francis Nash and Bro. Hammer McGuire officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 11AM-12 PM, Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel Mt. Sterling.  Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
