Phyllis Jean Poynter, 76, of Jeffersonville passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023 at St. Joseph Main Lexington.  She was born January 5, 1947 in Mt. Sterling, KY to Ella Long Cox and the late Eyvind Cox.  She is a retired Hairdresser.

She is survived by her husband, Tony Poynter of Jeffersonville, KY;  son, Joseph Poynter (Lee Anne) of Mt. Sterling, KY; daughter, Michelle Poynter of Mt. Sterling, KY; brothers, Roy Cox (Michelle) of London, KY and Billy Cox (Debbie) of Jeffersonville, KY; sisters, Lettie Robinson (Tim) of Hillsboro, KY, Karen Peck (Randall) of Frenchburg, KY and Trina Miller (Eugene) of Mt. Sterling, KY; grandchildren, Megan Greene, Sarah Tabor, Alden Holt, Aaron Holt and Meghan Lawill; and one great grandchild, Kyra Tabor.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 6-8 PM, Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.
