Rex Darren Martin, 48, of Holt Avenue, Mt. Sterling passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 at his residence.  He was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on March 19, 1974 the son of Joe and Geraldine Moore Martin.  He was a veteran, a self employed asphalt contractor and member of the Cathedral of Glory.

He is survived by his wife, Genean Williams Martin of Mt. Sterling; his parents, Joe and Geraldine Martin of Mt. Sterling; a son, Rex Martin, II of Mt. Sterling; a daughter, Emily Martin of Mt. Sterling; a brother, Joseph (Loretta) Martin of Mt. Sterling; his twin sister, Tammy Martin Lockridge of Mt. Sterling; and a mother in law, Arena Williams of Mt. Sterling.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rex and Emily Moore and B. and Opal Martin and a brother, Tony Martin.

Funeral services will be 2 PM, Monday, July 11, 2022 at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Sterling with Bro. Joe Hall and Pastor John Hobson officiating and burial following in the Machpelah Cemetery.  Friends may visit Monday from 12 Noon - 2 PM at the Taul Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Eric Hudson, Josh Martin, John Prather, Ryan Williams, Jacob Williams, Micah Williams, Lance Lockridge and Robbie Crockett.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Caldwell, Levi Martin, Kevin Matuszek, Shaune Dunaway, Andy Sapp, Aaron Roberts, Stewart McGrannahan and a host of great nephews and great nieces.  In lieu of flowers donations to assist with funeral expenses can be made to Taul Funeral Home.     "Remember Jesus loves you and so does Uncle Rex."
