Richard Lee Willoughby, 51, of Mt. Sterling passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 at his residence.  He was born January 6, 1971 in Mt. Sterling to Denise Wills and Vernon Richard "Dickie" Willoughby.  He was a member of Peel Oak Christian Church and the Local 112, Operating Engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Sheri Groen Willoughby of Mt. Sterling, KY; his mother, Denise Wills (Greg) of Mt. Sterling, KY; a son, Colton Willoughby of Florence, KY; two daughters, Amanda Wilson (Richard) of Chesapeake, VA and Kristina Willoughby of Sparta, KY; five grandchildren, Jaxson Wilson, Trey Wilson, Carson Willoughby, Mason Willoughby and Addison Willoughby; a special cousin, Donnie Ray Willoughby (Pamela) of Oklahoma; a special friend, Jamie Wagoner; and several special pets, Gunner, Diesel, Thor, Zeus, Biscuit, Boo Boo, Remington, Bullitt,  Daisey May and Gravy.

In addition to his father, Vernon Richard "Dickie" Willoughby, he is preceded in death by a special friend, Jeremy Hamilton.

Graveside service will be held 12 PM, Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Machpelah Cemetery with Pastor Bill Teegarden.  Visitation will be held 10:30-11:45 AM at Taul Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers will be Colton Willoughby, Greg Wills, Roger Ingram, Eddie Gross, Jordan Grayson, Chad Davis and Dylan Cozart.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Wagoner and Donnie Ray Willoughby.  In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Montgomery County Humane Society, 115 Adena Drive, Mt.
