Robert "Bob" Grooms, 82, of Mt. Sterling passed away Monday, April 10, 2023 at St. Joseph Hospital Mt. Sterling.  He was born July 12, 1940 in Montgomery County, KY to the late Vernon David Grooms and Josie Susan Collins.  He was a member of Peyton Lick Christian Church and retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation.  He was an avid fisherman, he loved his church and to sing in the choir, along with being a builder, farmer and was a great handyman.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Hedges Grooms of Mt. Sterling, KY; son, Mike Grooms (Julie) of Mt. Sterling; daughter, Robin Fogle of Mt. Sterling, brother Harold Grooms (Nancy) of Bourbon County, KY; grandchildren, Gus Fogle, Michelle Sobolewski (Rob) and Katlyn Adams (Eric); and great grandchildren, Briggs Sobolewski, Macoy Sobolewski, Olivia Adams, Sadie Adams and Maddie Adams.

Funeral services will be held 1PM, Friday, April 14, 2023 at Taul Funeral Homes Chapel with Caven Hedges officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 11 – 1 PM, Friday, April 14, 2023 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Sawyer Crossfield, Hunter Shelby, Shane Shelby, Gabe Prewitt, Eric Adams and Rob Sobolewski.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Smith, Bill Johnson, Chuck Perry, Harold Grooms, Ronnie Johnson and Charles Johnson.  Masonic rites will be performed at 1 PM before the service by the Hope Masonic Lodge # 246.
