Roger Routt, 71, of Mt. Sterling passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 at St. Joseph East Hospital Lexington.  He was born July 7, 1950 to the late William Franklin Routt and Mary Farris Doggett.  He was a member of East Fork Church of God and the manager of the Meat Department at Slone's Signature Market.  He loved Montgomery County girls basketball and his favorite past time was watching his grandkids play sports.

He is survived by son, Chad Routt of Mt. Sterling, KY; a special friend, Joyce Williams; two sisters, Sally Porter (Stanley) of Owingsville, KY and Janice Boggs (Glynis) of Owingsville, KY; and three grandchildren, Ella Katherine Routt, Noah William Routt and Parker Anne Routt.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Gail Warner Routt; and one grandchild, Sophia Caroline Routt.

A funeral service will be held 1 PM, Friday, August 13, 2021 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating, burial following at Longview Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 11-1 PM, Friday, August 13, 2021 at Taul Funeral Homes Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Stanley Porter, Glynis Boggs, Ty Eads, Jay Eads, Jake Porter, Jeffrey Boggs, Joel Eads and Darrell Porter.  Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Routt, Mearl Campbell and Larry Routt.
