Shannon Marie Powell, 42, of Mt. Sterling lost her battle with cancer Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the University of Kentucky Hospital.  She was born July 2, 1980 to Rick and Nadine Powell of Mt. Sterling, KY.  She worked at Clark Regional Medical Center.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two daughters, Brooklyn Taylor Brockman of Mt. Sterling, KY and Jacey Kate Chadwell of Mt. Sterling; brother, Nathan Alan Powell (Tracy) of Scott County, KY; a niece, Miranda; and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held 2pm, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shawn Spradling officiating, burial following at Martin Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 12-2 PM, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Nathan Powell, Jason Curtis, Jacob Curtis, John Chadwell, Kyle Miller, James Williams, Stephen Powell and Kyle Larison.  Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Martin, Ginger Wilburn, Patrick McCarty, Clarie Sharp, Jenny Noble and Anesha Stevens.
