Sherman Chambers, 80 of Jeffersonville passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at his residence.  He was born September 6, 1940 to the late Joe Chambers and Gracie Alma Proffitt.

He is survived by his wife, Verniece Black Chambers of Corbin, KY; one son, Sherman Joseph Chambers of Jeffersonville, KY; one daughter, Jeannetta R. Barber of Jeffersonville, KY; one brother, Herman Chambers (Judy) of Jeffersonville, KY; and ten grandchildren, Ashley Chambers, Joseph Lee Chambers, Madison Chambers, Nicholas Barber, Bryant Barber, Tyler Barber, Jordan Barber, Jordan Barber, Matthew Zornes, Mark Zornes and Sarah Zornes; and five great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Joyce James Chambers; one daughter, Doris Zornes; four brothers, Clay Chambers, Clifton Chambers, Carl Chambers and Roger Chambers; and four sisters, Gladys Lawson, Waleto Chambers, Mattie Chambers and Leora Chambers.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM, Friday, July 30, 2021 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Adkins, Bro. Herman Chambers and Bro. Richard Caskey officiating, with burial following at Chambers Cemetery in Jeffersonville, KY.  A visitation will be held 6-8 PM, Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Joe Chambers, Nicholas Barber, Bryant Barber, Tyler Barber, Jordan Barber and John Bush.  Honorary pallbearer will be Phillip Chambers.
