Sidney Ray Richards, Sr., 76, of Valleyview Drive, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the Fountain Circle Rehabilitation Center in Winchester.  He was born in Bath County, Kentucky on May 11, 1945 the son of the late Elmer Roy Richards and Shrilda Fair Havens.  He was a pool builder and a member of the Thrive Church.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Richards of Mt. Sterling, KY; five sons, Sidney Ray Richards, Jr. of Winchester, KY, Thomas Dale Richards (Cathleen) of Georgetown, KY, Stephen Ray Richards (Shelley) of Winchester, KY, Jonathon Dwayne Richards (Lori) of Bourbon County, KY, and Jeremy Michael Richards (Katrina) of Winchester, KY; four daughters, Robin Turner (Tim) of Sharpsburg, KY, Stephanie Whitt (Jason) of Mt. Sterling, Sherry Caldwell (Larry) of Mt. Sterling, KY and Amanda Delgado (Brandon) of Mt. Sterling; two brothers, Roy Richards (Helen) of Seymour, IN and Dean Richards of California; two sisters, Anne Ivy of Lehigh Acres, FL and Jane Crump (Ambrose) of Paris, KY; thirty-two grandchidren and several great grandchildren also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Richards and Ralph Richards and one sister, Helen Hensley.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM, Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Sterling with Revs. Tyler Robbins and Ken Metcalfe officiating and burial following in the Machpelah Cemetery.  Friends may visit Tuesday from 11 am - 1 pm at the Taul Funeral Home.  Pallbearers will be Josh Larocque, Joshua Richards, Devin Richards, Jacob Richards, Austin Richards and Nick Richards.  Honorary pallbearers will be Rebekah Richards, Hayley Richards, Aubriana Richards, Jordan Richards, Jennifer Richter, Lacey Wheeler, Amber Starkey, Peyton Lewis, Hazel Richards and Willow Richards.
