Venus (Cole) Hurt, 74, of Frenchburg passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at her residence.  She was born September 4, 1949 to the late Jack Cole and Delores Brown.  She worked for Jockey International, owned Granny's Restaurant, was a Chamber of Commerce Member and President, and City Commissioner.

She is survived by a brother, Wayne Cole (Tammy) of Frenchburg, KY; sister Patricia Lentz (David) of Piqua, OH; a stepsister, Julie Binkley of Knoxville, OH; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Hurt; and stepsister, Judy Bell.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel, Frenchburg with Rev. Dennis Flannery officiating, burial following at Mack Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 11 AM, Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel, Frenchburg.  Pallbearers will be Wayne Cole, Gary Brown, Robin Wells, Jimmy Trimble, Eddie Harris and Dan Boyer.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Lentz, Dwight Brown, Eddie Bryant, Stanley Cole, Zachary Chester, Connor Hurt, Dwayne Benson and Tim Smith.  In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Menifee County Animal Shelter, PO Box 75, Frenchburg, KY 40322 or Misfits on a Mission, PO Box 764, Frenchburg, KY 40322.
