Obituary

William David Campbell, 80, husband of Clairece Campbell of Mt. Sterling passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020 at his residence. David was born September 20, 1939 to William Benjamin "Bill" and Francis Wyatt Campbell of Mt. Sterling.  He was reared in Methodist Faith and attended numerous other denominations.

David was very active as counselor of Boy Scouts of America and Montgomery County Jaycee's. His career in photography began at an early age at Sharp Studio.  He was co-owner of Campbell Studios for many years.  He then entered into manufacturing field, beginning  with Trojan Industry followed with Hobart as a Supervisor, then Mesker Industry in St. Louise, then back to Hobart where he retired.  He then accepted a position with AO Smith in Mebane, NC.  After this retirement David and "Reece" made the permanent move back home to Mt. Sterling.

David loved flying and aerial photography.  He loved the ocean and mountains.  He was very knowledgeable in mechanics and was an avid woodworker.

In addition to his wife he is survived by sons, William Randolph Campbell of Indianapolis and David Alan Campbell of Mt. Sterling; sisters, Mary Francis Ramey and Jessie (James) Boyd, both of Mt. Sterling; daughter-in-law, Dottie Campbell of Lebanon; prior wife, Nancy Chase of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by, one son, Joseph Benjamin Campbell; infant grandchild, William David Campbell; one great granddaughter, Leela Milburn; Special niece, Kathy Boyd Long; and special nephew, James "Buddy" Boyd.

A graveside service will be held 1 PM, Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Martin Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Slone, Jr. officiating. Taul Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.
